Rio's story: Our 14 month old bloodhound was leaving his crate and somehow caught his paw in the crate bar (the crate wires that run horizontally beneath the crate door).  Screaming, he went down on his side trying to free his paw.  I saw what had happened and desperately tried to help him free his stuck and twisted toes only to make contact with a mouth full of teeth. After what seemed like an eternity helplessly watching him thrash and yelp, he finally pulled free. When I was sure he was back to his usual slobbery and happy self I felt that it was safe to examine his paw and leg. Fortunately this time, our beloved hound was OK and I only had one tooth puncture wound between two fingers. It could have proved quite costly with an expensive veterinary bill.
